Recycle- Recycling reduces our need to extract minerals, therefore saving energy and lowering greenhouse gas emissions.
Repurpose household items- Many common home products may be repurposed to cut waste: plastic or glass jars for food storage containers and plants, old bed sheet/scarf into a reusable supermarket bag.
Compost- Much of the food waste we generate, such as eggshells and fruit peels, is biodegradable. Composting helps removing the toxic methane byproducts that are emitted into the atmosphere when organic items decompose in landfills.
