Zero Waste Lifestyle

Eliminate single-use items- Rather than purchasing fresh plastic bottles at the grocery store, have your own reusable water bottle on hand.

Recycle- Recycling reduces our need to extract minerals, therefore saving energy and lowering greenhouse gas emissions.

Repurpose household items- Many common home products may be repurposed to cut waste: plastic or glass jars for food storage containers and plants, old bed sheet/scarf into a reusable supermarket bag.

Compost- Much of the food waste we generate, such as eggshells and fruit peels, is biodegradable. Composting helps removing the toxic methane byproducts that are emitted into the atmosphere when organic items decompose in landfills.

Connect with a zero-waste community- Connect with the zero-waste community. These groups may be encouraging and helpful in giving the information you need to go on your own successful zero-waste path.
